With 2019 quickly coming to a close, it’s time to start looking forward to the year ahead. While the new year is generally a time of fresh starts and new beginnings, we know that in terms of legislation, 2020 is going to be an uphill battle.
Governor Inslee and the majority democratic state house and senate are seemingly focused on doing everything they can to harm our great state’s oil and gas professionals.
At WOMA, we’re all for environmentally conscious practices that make our world a better, safer place, but the push for carbon initiatives, carbon restrictions, and more low-carbon fuel standards (LCFS) just doesn’t make sense. That’s why we’re calling on you, our trusted members, to contribute to our political action committee. It’s your generous donations that can help us insert logic and information into the vital conversations sure to take place in the coming months.
In addition, we’re concerned about the efforts the Puget Sound Clean Air Authority is taking to impose its own low-carbon fuel standard in the counties of King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Kitsap. The proposal, as it stands, requires a 25% carbon intensity reduction, which is higher than both California and Oregon’s LCFS. We’re hard at work preparing a rebuttal, but we need your help, too! If you own a business in any four of these counties, we need your voice to help combat this damaging proposal. To see how you can make your voice heard, call (360) 443-6696 or send an email to email@example.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
